Nobody who witnessed it will ever forget the colossal failure of The Gobbledy Gooker at Survivor Series 1990. Live on pay-per-view, Hector Guerrero was forced to hatch from a giant egg and prance around like a fool in a turkey costume. As he did so, fans booed the segment mercilessly.

Chatting with Sports Illustrated this week, Guerrero revealed that a much more embarrassing situation was waiting for him just a few months later inside Madison Square Garden. Coming out to a darkened arena, the Gooker walked to the ring in a spotlight. Hector was unable to see properly due to the lack of light and the awkward headpiece he was wearing.

Falling over when attempting a flip inside the ring, he was booed once again. Retreating backstage after his performance, Guerrero was shot a dirty look by virtually everyone. Even Vince McMahon seemed disgusted and Hector was distraught.

Approached as he was undressing quietly, Guerrero was told by Gorilla Monsoon that WWF officials had only just figured out how challenging it was for him to actually see what he was doing. The Gobleddy Gooker was nonetheless doomed as a character.
