1. John Laurinaitis Convinced Brock Lesnar On Shooting Star Press
During his discussion with Steve Austin post-Monday Night Raw on the WWE Network, Brock Lesnar refused to disclose much detail about this particular incident. At WrestleMania XIX, Lesnar attempted a Shooting Star Press to Kurt Angle, even though the Olympic Gold Medal winner was more than half way across the ring. The stunt backfired, and Brock ended up knocking himself loopy. Due to this, Lesnar claims he doesn't remember much from the last few minutes of the bout. Scaling the ropes to perform the move, it's clear to see that Brock was more than a little nervous about what he was about to do. Down in WWE's developmental system, OVW, he had performed the move admirably. WrestleMania was a different ball game however, the pressure was intense. According to the Wrestling Observer, it was John Laurinaitis who convinced Brock Lesnar that the Shooting Star Press was a must. Previously, names such as Jim Ross had also been linked to the scenario, but it turns out it was Laurinaitis who booked the spot. It didn't pan out, and was likely a little embarrassing for Lesnar, crashing and burning on wrestling's biggest stage. What other big wrestling facts did you learn this week?
