Both Jason Jordan and Chad Gable have been compared to Kurt Angle. There's also a clear similarity between American Alpha and the 'Team Angle' duo comprised of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas many years ago. Such comparisons are born from amateur wrestling skill and an emphasis on the idea of each wrestler being a world class athlete.

Answering questions as part of a WWE conference call set up to promote the impending European tour, Jason Jordan was only too pleased to cite Angle as a hero of his. Along the way, the tag star also talked about winning the NXT Tag-Team Titles at NXT TakeOver: Dallas on April 1, 2016.

Working his tail off to improve as a performer, Jordan said it only really seemed worth it when he lifted that championship above his head shortly before WrestleMania. Suddenly, all his hard work had been validated by actually holding a physical title.

Sometimes, pro wrestling belts can be treated as props. On this occasion, one helped establish to Jordan that he had made the right choice to pursue a wrestling career.
