On the February 8, 2016 episode of Monday Night Raw, Daniel Bryan formally announced his retirement from in-ring action. Severe injury problems had plagued him for years, eventually getting the point where doctors told the man that he was seriously risking his long-term health should be continue to work matches.

Clearly distraught by what he was forced to do, Bryan has since bounce back as an announcer for the Cruiserweight Classic and as the General Manager of the SmackDown Live brand. There's an underlying sense that this hasn't placated Bryan's love of wrestling, something Brie Bella admitted on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast.

Some may have expected Bryan to come to terms with his retirement by now, but Brie assured everyone that the couple still argue about Daniel's desire to return to the ring. There's little chance WWE would ever allow that to happen. Even though Bryan is fully aware of this, he still harbours hopes of someday working another match.

Months on from his on screen retirement, Daniel Bryan remains uneasy about it all. Away from the WWE spotlight, this causes minor skirmishes at home with Brie.
