If 2005 was a breakout year for Adam 'Edge' Copeland on WWE television, 2006 only helped the Canadian cement his position as a major player in the organisation. At WrestleMania 22 in the Spring months of that year, Edge faced Mick Foley in a Hardcore Match that went on fourth during the main card.

Earlier, the Money In The Bank Ladder Match had thrilled fans, but Edge and Foley had something up their sleeves to make the show their own. When coming up with some ideas for the bout, Edge broached the idea of using a flaming table with agents helping to piece together the extreme encounter.

Revealing his surprise to Crave Online, Copeland remarked that he's still shocked management went along with his vision. Feeling those in charge would surely shoot the idea of using fire at WrestleMania down, Edge looked on in amazement as his suggestion was not only authorised but endorsed by officials.

A Spear from Edge to Foley which sent both crashing through the blazing wood remains one of 'Mania's most visually stunning spots. Still, Edge couldn't believe it was accepted by WWE.
