Back when Vince McMahon believed every mid-carder needed a real-life job on the side, fans were treated to T.L Hopper. A slobbish, lazy plumber who loved to stick 'Betsy' (his plunger) into the faces of opponents, Hopper never had a hope in hell of getting over with fans. The man behind the gimmick knew that, but he didn't want to speak up.

During an interview for the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, Hopper admitted that he had the chance to question McMahon's logic, but chose not to because he just wanted a gig with the WWF. That's understandable; nobody can blame the man for wanting to work for wrestling's biggest company. Still, it can't have been easy when he knew the character sucked.

As he watched Vince get animated in his office when describing the gimmick, Hopper kept his mouth shut, smiled and nodded. Though he was only concerned with getting his foot in the door, T.L now realises that he should have suggested something else.
