Any video game enthusiast who also loves wrestling will have heard about No Mercy on the N64. Released in the year 2000, the digital classic had PlayStation owners looking on with intense jealousy. Not only was the gameplay silky smooth, the entire package just offered something that games like WWF Attitude and even SmackDown couldn't.

The Create-A-Wrestler function was available in SmackDown, although it must be pointed out that it was nowhere near the fully-fleshed creation suite on offer in No Mercy. During an interview with Hardcore Gamer, current WWE Champion AJ Styles revealed that he was a huge fan of the game upon release.

Attending a press event to promote WWE 2K17, Styles reminisced on fond memories of No Mercy. In the middle of the chat, AJ also said that the N64 title marked the very first time he ever created himself in a wrestling game.

It's funny to think that the current WWE Champion was making himself in video game form just 17 years ago. Now, he lives out his dream of working for the promotion in reality.
