After Bray Wyatt was reborn as The Fiend, he set his sights on the returning John Cena and they were on track to clash at WrestleMania 36 in a ‘Firefly Fun House match’. Cena at the time didn’t know what he was fully getting into on the 28 February SmackDown! when he agreed to the match, not comprehending it would be a psychological war for his inner being rather than a regular wrestling match.

Wyatt sucked Cena into the terrifying abyss that is the Firefly Fun House. The whole match was designed to mentally crush and consume John Cena, continuously bringing up his past mistakes and failures, like his severe lack of success in his Ruthless Aggression days, never having the grit to turn heel (like Hollywood Hogan in WCW) and even his well-publicized engagement to Nikki Bella ending. This wrecked Cena from the inside out.

We haven’t seen John Cena in WWE storylines since The Fiend choked him out towards the end of the match. Theories grow online that Cena is endlessly trapped in the disturbing world Wyatt’s built for himself; a torturous fate for the “Never Give Up” franchise of WWE.
