6. Raven And Beulah

Looking back, Raven ultimately was a tragic villain in ECW.

Tommy Dreamer and Raven were portrayed in the Philadelphia promotion as one-time childhood friends who met at summer camp but grew distant with age, with Dreamer becoming the popular jock and Raven the rejected outcast. The storyline later introduced Beulah McGillicutty, who went to the same camp and had a big crush on Tommy at the time but was shunned by him for being “fat” and “disgusting”. Beulah had dropped the weight since their camp days and was now a stunning Penthouse model. She hooked up with Raven as his lover/valet and they both went to work on making Tommy’s life a living hell.

After Tommy spoke of his regret for blanking Beulah at camp; after Tommy and Raven/Beulah clashed and fought; after Raven started neglecting Beulah – Beulah started seeing Tommy behind Raven’s back.

Tommy and Beulah later married and had twin girls. It didn’t matter how many times Raven beat Dreamer, Raven had to live with Tommy once again getting the girl and living happily ever after with Beulah. It was a grim destiny for society’s castoff..
