10 Wrestling Gimmicks Handed Down To Other Wrestlers

1. Sin Cara

WWE's hype and the press conference treatment they gave their new signing should let everyone know how excited they were to capture Mexican standout Místico in 2011. That media scrum introduced his new WWE character: Sin Cara. He was hyped as the "next Rey Mysterio" in some circles.

It was all downhill from there.

Místico tanked big time in WWE. The dimmed lighting during his matches and his trampoline-assisted entrance (one the guy botched several times) did nothing to hide the fact he wasn't as special as WWE had claimed; Místico, as Cara, never looked like he really wanted to be there.

By 2013, he'd been ousted from the Sin Cara mask and replaced by Jorge Arias, who'd previously been working as a darker version of Cara and Hunico. The change was a like-for-like swap, and not one WWE made a lot of noise about. They sneaked Arias in the back door full-time and sneaked Místico out back to his native Mexico.

The gimmick has ranged from NXT tag-team success to enhancement talent ever since.
