10 Wrestling Gimmicks Handed Down To Other Wrestlers

Just look at Glenn Jacobs' face in the comparison pic above. That's the least convincing 'Big Daddy Cool' expression of all time, and it fooled exactly nobody.

Jacobs was brought in to play Kevin Nash's old WWF gimmick at the same time Rick Bognar was playing Scott Hall's 'Bad Guy'. He, as Diesel, did a slightly less insulting job than Bognar's Razor, and he did manage to show some in-ring promise during his otherwise short, unremarkable run.

Like the Ramon nonsense though, it was doomed to fail. Fans couldn't take a copycat seriously, and they refused to play along with McMahon's vision for the recast "Razor and Diesel". Jim Ross could spin his ass off on commentary defending them as "young, incredible athletes" all he wanted, but no-one was buying what the WWF was selling on this occasion.

As luck would have it, Jacobs got another shot at fame when he was tasked with playing The Undertaker's brother Kane. That'd be much more fruitful, and it'd turn him into one of the biggest, most marketable stars around. 'Fake' Diesel became a short-lived, embarrassing memory.
