10 Wrestling Gimmicks That Failed Before They Started
6. Kizarny
A wrestler who speaks in carny? That's a gimmick doomed to fail. Which it did. Kizarny was Canadian wrestler Nick Cvjetkovich, who had wrestled on the indie circuit and was pals with Al Snow. Snow urged him to wrestle in OVW, at the time the WWE's developmental territory and, eventually, it earned him a WWE contract. He then found himself in FCW as the WWE shifted its developmental arm, and wrestled as Sinn Bowdee - frankly a much cooler name than Kizarny. In FCW, Bowdee went up against the likes of Jack Swagger and Sheamus in 2007, and then was called up to the main roster (though still utilized by FCW) in 2008 - only this time he was stuck with the Kizarny gimmick. Described as "if Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Doink produced a lovechild" (as if anyone wanted to see that) he was introduced through a number of vignettes, and made his in-ring debut in January 2009. Lasting a little over two months and wrestling only a couple of televised matches, he was unceremoniously released from the promotion. Word at the time was that the promotion wasn't thrilled with his in-ring work and were especially critical of his debut match, but they never bothered giving him much time to grow since he was saddled with such a god-awful character.
