10 Wrestling Gimmicks That Got Out Of Control

8. Diesel & Razor Ramon

Diesel Razor Ramon

Right, here's the deal: Imagine WWE had debuted a new indy wrestler as "Dean Ambrose" when the real one left the company and showed up in AEW as Jon Moxley. The entire wrestling world would've (rightly) laughed at this, and it's an absurd scenario to even type in 2020.

Back in 1996 though, someone had the bright idea to take the popular Diesel and Razor Ramon characters left behind by Kevin Nash and Scott Hall and pin them on two guys who weren't WCW's new Outsiders. It was ridiculous, and it made both Glenn Jacobs and Rick Bognar look like absolute idiots.

They were cosplay clowns, not cosplay kings.

This stupid move killed both gimmicks for good. How could Nash return as Diesel or Hall return as Razor without somebody bringing up these Halloween store knock offs for a giggle? WWE will never try this sh*t again. Ever.
