10 Wrestling Jobbers So BIZARRE They Feel Made Up

2. Cedrick Von Haussen

If someone told you that workhorse Johnny Gargano once appeared in the outfit pictured above when he was working bangers on NXT TakeOver specials, then you'd have scoffed and called them a liar. After all, how could anyone survive being cast as 'Cedrick Von Haussen: Liechtenstein Champion' and live to tell the tale?

You'd need to ask 'Johnny Wrestling' for tips on that front, because he's done it.

Gargano, as Von Haussen, did the honours for MVP on the 23 March 2007 episode of SmackDown. Keep in mind that this was approx a week before WrestleMania 23. That feels like a lifetime ago, and Johnny is probably glad of that fact! He hammed it up as the pride of Liechtenstein in Cleveland, Ohio.

Why management didn't plump for a more local flavour is confusing though. He easily could've been a Cleveland native who wanted to take the fight to Porter. Instead, he was Cedrick and wearing one of the most ridiculous looks WWE had ever seen - and they'd hired Bastion Booger.

The whole ordeal must feel like a fever dream for Gargano when he looks back now. In 2007, he was an aspiring independent star who simply wanted to make a name for himself and secure some more work with WWE. The Von Haussen role made that impossible, at least until he'd gone away and worked his butt off before returning full-time in 2015 ahead of signing a contract the following year.

The streets will never forget how much Gargano means to Liechtenstein-ian wrestling culture. Sort of.
