Joining his fellow D.I.Y. member as a performer who went from lame extra to king of developmental, Johnny Gargano's first-ever WWE appearance has become the stuff of hilarious legend.
The year was 2007, and as a warm-up contest for his upcoming WrestleMania 23 bout against Chris Benoit, MVP decided he'd test himself against the Champion of Liechtenstein himself, Cedrick Von Haussen.
The United States Championship challenger swiftly defeated a hat and lederhosen-wearing Gargano on the night of March 23. But this wouldn't be Johnny's last WWE cameo before eventually going on to become 'The Heart and Soul of NXT'.
In 2010, the future NXT Champion also went full security guard on the May 25 edition of the show that would eventually become the developmental brand we know today.
