There was no mystery as to who wrestling’s greatest law enforcement officer is.

Hailing from Cobb County, Georgia, the former corrections officer-turned-Big Boss Man entered the World Wrestling Federation in the late 80s, under the tutelage of Slick. He wore the traditional blue uniform shirt with a leather strap across his chest and a trusty night stick in his hand. Originally a villain, he would handcuff opponents after matches and beat them with the stick. His gimmick felt so real because it was: Ray Traylor actually worked as a corrections officer before entering the wrestling business.

In early 1990, Boss Man had a change of heart. Jake Roberts stole the Million Dollar Championship from Ted DiBiase, so Slick had Boss Man retrieve the belt. When he found out there was a payoff, Boss Man felt used and returned the title, breaking off his association with Slick in the process. For the next year, Boss Man administered justice in the Federation, battling the nefarious Heenan Family, The Mountie and ex-convict Nailz.
