The Heroes of Wrestling PPV goes down in the history books as being the worst wrestling shows ever put on. Nothing comes close to how dreadful an event it was, featuring many wrestlers who were out of shape and past their prime.

The show was supposed to conclude with two matches - Jake Roberts vs. Jim Neidhart and then King Kong Bundy vs. Yokozuna.

Jake Roberts was extremely inebriated for his match. Before it began, he cut an incoherent rambling rant rather than a promo. In the match, he removed his trademark snake from its bag only to stimulate masturbation with it before collapsing in the ring. The promoter of the event was obviously alarmed and embarrassed, with the PPV cutting to wide shots of the crowd while all this was happening.

On the fly, the promoter made the decision to cancel Roberts’ singles match and send Bundy and Yoko to the ring, combining the Roberts/Neidhart and Bundy/Yoko matches into a tag team main event. All four of them struggled to put on a worthwhile match, with Jake being confused and oblivious to everything happening around him. The show ended with a quick pinfall on Roberts following a splash by Bundy and Roberts getting up to tease pulling his tights down as the promoter immediately cut the feed to the show.

Thankfully Roberts has since overcome his addictions and is a regular contributor on AEW television as Lance Archer’s manager.
