8. A Telltale Cut Reveals That Dexter Lumis Is Not Ricochet

This was more of a sh*tty edit but technically, it showed something that was filmed that you were not meant to see.

Because the editing was so unbelievably sh*tty.

Back in the peak of the coronavirus pandemic - not this one, the one authorities actually sold - two things conspired to depict Dexter Lumis as a sort of undefined, possibly supernatural presence.

1)

WWE NXT, being a WWE product, imposes certain things on its performers. It's on record. Triple H has publicly referred to this practise as "running the WWE playbook". In this instance, Lumis was to execute a Ricochet-esque aerial in a Triple Threat match opposite Finn Bálor and Timothy Thatcher. Because Lumis is not a phenomenal talent, it did not go well. He isn't even a high-flier by trade. Thus, he broke his ankle. This was like making Shane McMahon do MMA.

Pause.

2)

The taped nature of these empty Performance Center shows compelled NXT to try and get away with it anyway, and so Lumis, ankle broken, was asked to stand upright so that the video production department could splice the two actions together.

It didn't really work. Dexter was obviously going arse over t*t. You can tell by his arc that he did not stick the landing.

Just send the poor bloke to A&E, Christ.
