10 Wrestling Matches That Are So Bad They Are Hilariously Awesome

7. HHH Vs. The Ultimate Warrior – WWF WrestleMania XII

This is not the only time that these two will appear on this list because both of these guys have been in a considerable number of dumpster fires.

However, while most of their garbage matches were simply just that, this one will always hold a special spot in my heart. That is because it’s the only one I can recall where the burial master HHH gets mercilessly buried himself.

I'm not going to deny that HHH knows his stuff and that WWE would be a whole lot better if he were in charge these days. But I also had to endure his reign of terror in the early 2000s, and I have had to endure him headlining WrestleMania in 2016, while a bunch of young guys under him waste away in the mid-card.

And, while it’s fair to say that few people have worked as hard as HHH to get where he is, few people have also been spoon fed so many opportunities over the years, as Trips has.

So basically, it's just comforting for me to know that on film, we have recorded footage of HHH getting absolutely humiliated by a guy who could barely construct a coherent sentence let alone a decent wrestling match.

There is something so hilariously satisfying about watching HHH right in the midst of one of the most inappropriate and depressing gimmicks imaginable, getting crushed in a few seconds.

It is particularly satisfying because you know that objectively speaking, he was by far the better wrestler of the two competitors, and he absolutely should not have been made to job like that.

I feel like if you listen carefully you can practically hear HHH's brain scream in frustration as the crowd laps up all 90 seconds of this ridiculous ‘match.'

Sure, it's petty. But it's wrestling. Wrestling is built on pettiness, to be fair. Just look at how HHH describes the moment in the Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior DVD – which in itself is a remarkably petty piece of slander produced by an often incredibly petty organisation.
