10 Wrestling Matches That Collapsed In Front Of Everybody

8. Sin Cara Vs. Alberto Del Rio (WWE Raw, August 19th 2013)

It's better living in the present than the past because laments on who's the biggest sh*thouse in this match are open and shut despite the at-the-time irritation targeted at failing project Sin Cara back in 2013.

It's also better because one can view this spot through a more sympathetic lens these days. Never has an athlete's physical and mental health been higher up the fan agenda, and mainstream wrestling is very (very) gradually shifting the stigma around working hurt or finishing matches injured.

All of this is to say that when Sin Cara ushered over the referee due to an apparent wrist problem, he was given little sympathy from the live crowd, commentators, or Alberto Del Rio himself. Even in the early-2010s, right around the time Daniel Bryan was having a contest stopped slap bang in the middle over a stinger, there was a certain severity league table that reduced Cara's complaints to cowardice.

Nowadays, most discerning viewers wouldn't do anything in support of the former World Heavyweight Champion, and flagging up a situation - no matter how serious - would be deemed best practice. Nobody covered themselves in glory when this one fell to pieces.
