10 Wrestling Matches That Collapsed In Front Of Everybody

7. Scott Steiner Vs Jeff Jarrett Vs Sid Vicious Vs Road Warrior Animal (WCW Sin 2001)

A bone break so hideous that WCW decided to try and score a ratings with a post-pay-per-view repeat of it on Nitro, Sid Vicious' horrifying fracture was the moment a already-middling four way match careered off the rails just as the promotion itself was about to.

The very idea - pitched by John Laurinaitis for the match booked to get his brother over as a terrible surprise entrant - was thick to the point of self-sabotage. Sid was limited and not known for his coordination and his punches and kicks were amongst the worst in wrestling, so flying off the top rope with an outstretched boot

Then (and in typical late-WCW fashion), the spot was missed on the live broadcast anyway. Animal's arrival in a weird mystery man outfit was down to the storyline meddling of authority figure Ric Flair, but Sid's big disastrous leap of faith took place as the cameras tracked the late entry.

Viewers were returned to the match to find Sid laying prone, understandably sh*tting himself at the state of his foot. It was, much like WCW, hanging by a thread.
