10 Wrestling Matches That Led To Massive Lawsuits

8. The Gangstas Vs. D-Von Dudley & Mass Transit

When: An ECW House show on 23 November 1996.

If you were a wrestling fan during ECW's mid-'90s boom and didn't see or hear about any New Jack matches, then you were living under a rock. When it comes to sorry episodes like the the 'Mass Transit' controversy, then that's a rock well worth living under.

Before a November 1996 house show, Paul Heyman had a problem. Axl Rotten, who was scheduled to team with D-Von Dudley against The Gangstas (New Jack and Mustafa) wouldn't be able to perform. Mid-scramble to find a replacement, then-17 year old Erich Kulas lied, told Heyman he was 23 and said he was fully trained.

Somehow, it worked, and Kulas ended up inside the ring being battered by all manner of weapons before Jack pulled out a scalpel and carved his forehead so deep blood literally spurted from it. The family sued ECW and New Jack for assault, but the jury acquitted Jack of all wrongdoing.

Right, enough bloodletting.
