6. Bill Goldberg Vs Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania XX)

Anybody doubting how easy it is to pull off a battle between Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg need only view their scintillating 2016/167 programme to watch it done well. But in 2004, these were very different men in a very different company.

Set up when they were both World Champions on SmackDown and Raw respectively, neither of them had belts nor any interest in the company by the time this cursed encounter came around.

The story's been well-told by now - Goldberg was finishing up with WWE after a miserable year under Vince McMahon's watch and Triple H's thumb. Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar had lost interest in sucking up wrestling's hard grind in favour of trying his hand in the NFL. The New York City Madison Square Garden crowd were hip to the room and let them both know it before the bell even rang.

As guest referee for the night, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the only one generating cheers, which is perhaps why this nothing presentation didn't climax with an explosive F5 or Jackhammer, but with flipped birds, stunners and beers.
