10 Wrestling Matches That Pissed You Off Straight Away

7. Johnny Gargano Vs Tommaso Ciampa (NXT, April 8th 2020)

It's difficult to even ponder April 2020 without becoming overwhelmingly glum about the state of the whole world during that particularly grim time.

Everything was scary, everywhere was unnervingly quite and everybody felt some form of unprecedented anxiety. In an effort to do what they believed was their divine right, wrestling companies ploughed forward in an effort to make sense of the times and provide the escape they've supposedly always existed for.

More often than not the failures were noble, but that cannot be said of this risible community theatre presentation that conclusively confirmed what had been growing clear for months - NXT was f*cked.

For the better part of an hour (with commercials), partners turned enemies turned partners turned enemies Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano waged their final war (until a four-way match brought them back together that summer...) in a secret location arranged for them by ludicrously lame father figure Triple H. And that was as good a reason to be pissed off as any - 'The Game' lurched in the corner of this mystery ring luxuriating in his unearned Godfather pomp would still be considered one of the cheesiest moments in WWE history had it not been obliterated in those stakes by the total turkey that followed.
