10 Wrestling Matches That Pissed You Off Straight Away

2. Sheamus Vs Daniel Bryan (WWE WrestleMania XXVIII)

WWE's so weird.

Or maybe it's just Vince McMahon, but then he is WWE so it's as easy to reference one as the other. And it/him is so weird. They had a thing people actually wanted and had promised to give it to them. And then they didn't!

Why?!

When a WrestleMania XXVIII World Title match between champion Daniel Bryan and Royal Rumble winner Sheamus was announced, it was considered something of an apology for a cancellation the prior year and an acknowledgement of their graft in the 12 months since. A meritocracy, you say? Stop talking before you embarrass yourself like we all did back in 2012.

WWE were foolish to expect anything other than indignation when Sheamus got the win in 18 seconds, and both he and especially the organisation were forced to swallow even more grief when the crowd effectively chose that night to turn the YES! chant into a grassroots campaign.

And because it's WWE, even sh*t comes full circle. This yet again created something people really wanted, and again the company worked as hard as it could to stop it being so.

So weird.
