10 Wrestling Matches That Sucked So Bad You Can't Believe They Were Booked
2. Damian Priest Vs. The Miz (WrestleMania Backlash 2021)
It's actually pretty evident why WWE booked this monstrosity of a "match" at WrestleMania Backlash 2021.
The company were being sponsored by Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead flick - a movie starring former WWE star Dave Bautista - at the event. So, why not chuck a few zombies into the night's Lumberjack match between The Miz and Damian Priest, eh?
Because both men, and Johnny Drip-Drip, running away from Performance Center trainees dressed up as the dead was ridiculously dumb even by WWE's standards, that's why.
Wtf you telling me?!! You think I booked a bunch of !*$% zombies. I’m on a damn plane! Shouldn’t you be tweeting Vince?! ??♂️ https://t.co/Eb8wNdijRI— Dave Bautista (@DaveBautista) May 17, 2021
If that wasn't strange enough for you, the company also opted to blast dramatic tunes through the speakers as the zombies swarmed around the squared-circle. Just to really sell the horror.
After then politely surrounding the ring and letting the grown men do a bit of that wrestling stuff, Miz ate the loss before being inevitably eaten alive by the undead.
Baffled fans all around the globe weren't the only ones left scratching their heads over the call to actually book this nonsense either.
Batista himself was quick to note on Twitter/X that he wasn't the bloke responsible for "booking a bunch of f***ing zombies" and folks insulted by this madness should be tweeting Vince McMahon instead.
