10 Wrestling Matches That Were Controversially CANCELLED

5. Hangman Page Vs PAC (AEW Double Or Nothing 2019)

"Creative differences" were cited as the reason why the first angle AEW ever shot for the first pay-per-view they were ever set to promote didn't go ahead back in 2019, and the saga of the lost Hangman Page Vs PAC Double Or Nothing 2019 match doesn't end there.

With PAC out of the question for the May 25th show in Las Vegas (more on that later) Page was forced to be "The Joker" in a clandestine pre-show Battle Royal that was now conveniently for the Number One Contendership to the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

The differences in question supposedly were to do with PAC's commitments elsewhere at the time. As Open the Dream Gate Championship for Dragon Gate, he wasn't in the position to lose via pinfall on such a high profile stage. This resulted in another piece of AEW trivia best confined to the past - the first official match in company history was a surprise booking for a Wrestlegate Pro show in Nottingham, England, and in the clean finishes promotion...went to a disqualification.
