10 Wrestling Matches That Were Difficult To Watch Live

Though bloodletting has largely gone in the way of the dodo in WWE's PG era, drawing colour remains an effective in-match tool, adding ladles of ghastly brutality to any heated bout, whether intentional or otherwise.

This, however, is way too far.

Eddie, the sympathetic babyface hero, was hit by a steel chair, then bladed as he hit the deck. Plasma streamed from the wound. In his haste, Guerrero had cut too deep, caught an artery, and set forth a crimson torrent that wouldn't be stemmed until Eddie, JBL, and their environment was coated in claret.

For those who could stomach them, the visuals were compelling. Layfield and Guerrero's brawl became a bloodbath, adding an extra layer of hatred to what had already been a stormy rivalry, during which JBL had supposedly given Eddie's mother a heart attack through his antics. Still, it was borderline stomach-churning at points. The sight of blood literally spurting from Guerrero's cranium will stay with you forever, and the mat resembled a gory Jackson Pollock painting by the end.

Unsurprisingly, Eddie went into shock after the match. Fair play to him for working through it though.
