1. John Cena Vs. Brock Lesnar - Extreme Rules Match (Extreme Rules 2012)
It's only fitting that one of the better matches to get you ready for Extreme Rules comes from an actual Extreme Rules PPV that also took place in Chicago. It's John Cena taking on Brock Lesnar in what was billed as an Extreme Rules match. That stipulation basically means the same thing as a Hardcore Match, a No DQ type of match, a Street Fight or anything else where weapons are allowed. They had a really good brawl that was so fun to watch because it was Lesnar's first WWE match in eight years and we really didn't know what to expect from him after so much time away. Why is this one relevant? Because John Cena uses a steel chain as a weapon against Brock Lesnar. Cena's match against Rusev at Extreme Rules is with a "Russian Steel Chain" meaning they have that chain available as a weapon as well. The chain is a fitting weapon for Cena since he used to wear a chain around his neck in the early days of his rapper gimmick, so it works well as a weapon for a guy that used to say he was the leader of the "Chain Gang." This match actually upsets a lot of people, myself included, that thought that Lesnar should have got the win in his first match back in WWE. That didn't happen, of course. It would be nice if WWE actually mentioned that bit of chain history during their broadcasts, but we all know they have a selective memory for a lot of things from the past.
