Is there a more ‘WWE style’ match possible than Randy Orton vs. Bobby Roode?

The Glorious US Champion spent the majority of his career in TNA, but he was always earmarked as a man made for Connecticut and the bright lights of WWE TV. His methodical style, solid promos and impeccable aesthetic combine to create a pro wrestler who could have been a success in any WWE era.

Randy Orton is often described as the perfect professional wrestler by the WWE announce team, which is little more than those in charge displaying their preferences. Orton looks like a million bucks, works a businesslike style that is the opposite of flashy, and has a finishing move that can be followed with the phrase ‘out of nowhere’.

Roode and Orton possess a lot of similarities, but they are yet to face each other in one-on-one competition on WWE TV. This is set to change at March’s Fastlane pay-per-view, but there is every chance that Jinder will get added to the bout over the next few weeks. The first Roode vs. Orton singles match may well be kept off until WrestleMania 34.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
