10 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Have Never Happened In WWE

8. Rusev Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

How great would this be? In a perfect world, Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura would be two of the top stars on SmackDown Live, building towards a major pay-per-view match for the WWE Championship. Rusev would have been the dominant heel champion for most of 2017, and The King of Strong Style would be forced to summon all of his swag in order to dethrone the Bulgarian Brute - on Rusev Day, no less.

As it is, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev have never really come close to doing battle in singles competition. This is true whatever the setting, be it television or live event. They have been on opposite sides of the ring in a number of tag team matches however, with Shinsuke coming out on top each and every time.

Nakamura vs. Rusev could be saved for the future, but it is a little surprising that Handsome Rusev wasn’t sacrificed to Shinsuke as part of the former NXT Champion’s initial SmackDown push. Rusev has lost to anyone and everyone over the last 12 months - anyone and everyone except the 2018 Royal Rumble winner.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
