7. Kurt Angle Vs Cody Rhodes
It was a surprise to many when Cody Rhodes requested his release from WWE earlier this year. While he was treading water with the Stardust character and being underutilised in the eyes of many wrestling fans, it was still a bold decision to walk away from the biggest pro-wrestling company on the planet.
But 'the grandson of a plumber' has gone from strength-to-strength since leaving WWE, working for companies including TNA, ROH, EVOLVE and our very own What Culture Pro Wrestling. He's also set to make his New Japan debut on January 4 in the Tokyo Dome. Not bad for seven months work.
Competing in numerous independent dream matches, it was at WCPW where Rhodes faced off with WWE and TNA legend Kurt Angle; a sight we never thought we'd ever see, let alone in the UK. Unsurprisingly, the match was awesome. Watch it here.
