10 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Happened In 2020

1. Jon Moxley Vs Kenny Omega (AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming)

An enormously anticipated title bout on a television show that drew the extra hundreds of thousands to prove it, AEW brought the wrestling prize fight back as something of a 2020 finale for Dyanmite, with a themed special headlined by their undisputed biggest stars.

Informed by both the match they'd had prior and the men they've grown to be ever since, the contest will forever be remembered for its finish and the ramifications of it rather than the excellent work that built up to the shocking final moments.

Omega's heel turn was all but official weeks earlier, but this was a glorious and nailed on confirmation courtesy of Don Callis' involvement, his own cheating, and the blockbuster announcment from the pair that they'd celebrate the win on the following Tuesday's episode of Impact Wrestling. Weeks removed, and 'The Best Bout Machine' has potentially already added a clash to next year's version of this list as he headlines January's Hard To Kill alongside "Super Elite" partners Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson against The Motor City Machine Guns and Impact Champion Rich Swann. His belt collector gimmick promises more like it.

"Changing The Universe" might finally be more than just a prodding slogan for a t-shirt. What looks small in the short-term could escalate into a working culture in mainstream wrestling beyond anything that's existed for decades. On the sidelines, Vince McMahon can but only watch, and that's much of what makes it so unbelievable, and so devilishly appealing.
