A Marmite match for its sheer volume of crazy spots, The Young Bucks and Lucha Brothers' Escarlea de la Muerte bout delighted some but disgusted others. These guys were out of control. To put over the kayfabe idea that they were willing to kill themselves and each other to end the feud, they indulged in spots that gave the impression they were shoot willing to kill themselves and each other to end the feud.

The closing stretch saw Pentagon Jr. level up after having his mask torn from his face, sparking a vengeful fire inside him. After retrieving his veil, Penta and Rey Fenix put Nick Jackson in the dirt, then went after Matt, preparing a double stomp/package piledriver combo on a bridged ladder.

The ladder didn't snap. It didn't even come close to giving way, in fact, and while Jackson's head clearly avoided a rung, the implication was that his skull had been driven into cold, ungiving steel.

Seconds later, the Lucha Brothers retrieved the belts. The ladder breaking as intended would have been an effective finish too, just not as brutal as the one we got.
