10 Wrestling Moments Made Better With Hulk Hogan Erased
7. Scott Steiner Blocks The "Finger Poke Of Doom"
By 1999, World Championship Wrestling was a mess. Hulk Hogan's very politically-motivated decision to go on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and announce his desire to run for president should've been another moment that Hogan faded into wrestling obscurity. If the idea of Hogan returning to wrestle Nash on the first Nitro of 1999 never even happened, it could've allowed for the amazingness that was "Scott Steiner WCW Champion" to transpire much earlier. Imagine if the main event of Nitro were to involve Nash and the Wolfpac coming to the ring to face what was listed as "someone from NWO Hollywood." Nash gets into the ring, and out by himself walks Scott Steiner who gets into the ring and in typical Steiner fashion said, "this is bulls***." If I win this belt from you tonight Nash, the NWO dies, too. It's a new year, and it's time for this company to go in a new direction. Scott Steiner beats Nash in the middle with the Steiner Recliner, the NWO disbands, and maybe, just maybe, WCW figures out how to right their then sinking ship.
