10 Wrestling Moments More Important Than You Realised
6. Wrestling Brock Lesnar Frustrates Jon Moxley
Look into Jon Moxley's eyes in the pic above.
That's the look of a man totally frustrated by everything that's going on. The then-Dean Ambrose was working a "crazy man" gimmick, sure, but he'd also just been told that Brock Lesnar didn't want to do most of the hardcore spots he had planned for their WrestleMania 32 clash.
The result of Brock's disinterest meant their match was a forgettable, one-sided and prolonged 'No Holds Barred' squash. A dawning realisation that top man Lesnar didn't view him as someone on the same level set wheels in motions for Mox to leave WWE behind.
Obviously, there's more to the story than that. Jon stuck around in the company for a few more years before throwing the towel in, but Brock's unwillingness to go CZW with Ambrose wrecked the guy's spirits. Even a run as WWE Champ later that same year couldn't creatively nourish Moxley the way he'd hoped.
