9. The Post-SummerSlam 2013 Daniel Bryan Burials
A few years on from being fooled into believing that some real change could be on the horizon before a certain 'Best in the World' was fumbled after dropping the mother of all pipebombs, Daniel Bryan finally seemed like he was ready to finish what CM Punk started.
But much like the Punker's meteoric rise was eventually bogged down by ridiculous Triple H and co. nonsense, D-Bry's moment in the sun lasted a grand total of a few minutes thanks to The Authority.
In the months that followed Randy Orton's SummerSlam 2013 cash-in on the new WWE Champion, the company didn't do all they could to maintain the organic momentum 'The American Dragon' had generated heading into his John Cena battle.
Instead, they decided to utterly bury the most popular babyface in the organisation, with Bryan failing to win the gold back on multiple occasions. And even when he did manage to topple 'The Viper', WWE only went and stripped him due to a Scott Armstrong fast-count.
This exasperating and uninspired burying of the fiery underdog didn't make you count down the days before the next edition of Monday Night Raw. It simply left many folks on the verge of turning their backs on all things bland and obnoxious sports entertainment for good as WWE fell back into their drab Orton/Cena rivalry coming into the 2014 Royal Rumble...
