7. Brock Lesnar Kills KofiMania

Daniel Bryan Triple H Vacated WWE Championship

Much like Daniel Bryan's undeniable rise to the top, the sight of Kofi Kingston finally lifting the big one on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All' was enough to make you foolishly believe WWE were actually capable of listening to their audience and fully getting behind a person who wasn't their idea of a bona fide top star.

But in a move that was reportedly (via Fightful) decided on within weeks of The New Day man winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, folks were then given the most excruciating of reality checks in the form of Brock Lesnar eventually bulldozing the positive force on the debut of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

It wasn't just the fact Kofi was unable to overcome 'The Beast' that left a particularly sour taste in the mouths of those who had well and truly buckled up for the KofiMania ride a few months earlier.

It was the way he was pulverised that left a great many feeling disheartened, with Kingston being squashed in seconds in order to set up a nothing Cain Velasquez Saudi match.

And the fact the former champ wasn't even offered a rematch after such a heartwarming rise up the card was the sort of disrespectful icing that very nearly put many off this sports entertainment cake altogether.
