Riding the crest of a Hulkamania-led wave and eager for more, Vinnie Mac wanted to strike when things were red hot. As revealed on The True Story of WrestleMania DVD (now available on the Network), many within the WWF thought McMahon insane for risking everything he had on one event.

That event, as luck would have it, was poised to alter the course of wrestling history and become the show of all shows.

There were no guarantees of countless stadium sell outs, millions in revenue, a mix of celebrity and wrestling with pop culture and lavish production or anything of the sort in 1985. No, all Vince had was his vision, and it called for 'Mania to become a showcase like no other before it. The WWF hype train went into overdrive here.

It paid off in the end. WrestleMania is now a time of celebration for millions of wrestling fans around the world, and it even brings lapsed fans back in their droves to see what WWE are up to. No other pay-per-view can claim to have had the same impact 'Mania has.
