10 Wrestling Moments That Scared The Sh*t Out Of Fans

8. Buff Bagwell Can’t Move

"They feared the worst".

The exact same could be said for ringsiders during WCW's 22 April 1998 taping for Thunder. Buff Bagwell took a bulldog from Rick Steiner, who leapt off the middle turnbuckle, and broke his neck upon landing. It was agonising to watch officials and medics work on Bagwell mid-ring, but understandable that every precaution was being taken.

Later, Buff admitted that he couldn't feel anything from the neck down. It became clear very quickly to the crowd that this wasn't some crummy angle too. The venue fell pretty silent for a while as Bagwell was placed in a neck brace, put on a stretcher and taken from the ring to hospital for further checks.

Thankfully, Buff was able to make a full comeback and wasn't paralysed after all (at least not for good). Everyone who witnessed this, either live in the arena or on television, could see that Bagwell was really struggling and pretty damn scared.
