9. Mick Foley Soaks Up Hell In A Cell Abuse
When Mick Foley stumbled his way back behind the curtain at the King Of The Ring 1998, Vince McMahon thanked him profusely for his sacrifices. In the same breath, the leader of the then-WWF told Foley he was never, ever to do anything like that again. Backstage, Foley's peers winced as they watched their friend put his body through hell, literally. Engaged in only the third ever Hell In A Cell Match in WWF/WWE history, The Undertaker reportedly thought he had killed Mankind when he hurled him twice from the top of the intimidating structure. Fans were in awe, and there was an electric atmosphere inside the arena. This is often something the company use as hyperbole, but it was certainly true of this particular Pay-Per-View. In one fell swoop, Foley and 'Taker made the Hell In A Cell concept the most must-see match in the entire wrestling world. How Mick was even able to walk after soaking up the abuse dished out by The Undertaker is mind-blowing. Nobody could have blamed him for calling the bout off after he plunged through the announce table from the top of the cell just minutes into the contest.
