At the 1998 King of the Ring, Mick Foley took one of the sickest bumps in WWE history. It was one of those moments where those watching were genuinely worried for the life of a performer. It was also something that took place 17 years ago.

The match, of course, saw Foley take on The Undertaker in a brutal Hell in a Cell bout. In a match full of wince-inducing action, the stand out moment saw the Phenom hurl Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy from the top of the steel construction, with the combined minds of Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love unceremoniously slamming through a table with a sickening thud that led Jim Ross to scream "Good God almighty! They've killed him!" Caused huge injuries? Yes. Killed him? It'll take more than that to see off Mick Foley, as proved by him continuing the match and taking another horrible looking bump through the cell itself.

Violence, weapons and bloodshed were a staple of the Attitude Era, but WWE fans had never seen anything like the Foley/'Taker Hell in a Cell Match before and have barely seen anything as insane since, which is likely for the best.

Even now, 17 years removed, Mick Foley's death-defying fall still makes for uncomfortable viewing.
