10 Wrestling Moves That Have Been Completely Ruined
7. 450 Splash
The 450 Splash feels like it's been around for ages in wrestling, but one of the first WWE Superstars to use it as a regular finisher was Justin Gabriel. The NXT rookie electrified fans with his exceptional execution of the move and continued to use it while with The Nexus and beyond.
It was a popular move on the independent scene before that and has been since then, but much like the Spanish Fly and Frog Splash, it's been done so frequently by the Cruiserweights in WWE that it isn't anything out of the ordinary these days.
Following Gabriel's departure from the company in 2015, Neville was the next notable Superstar to use it on occasion. As a result of his Red Arrow finisher being far more impressive, the 450 Splash was relegated to being just another move in his arsenal. The same could be said for AJ Styles, who at least used it as an alternate finisher during his TNA tenure before making it a regular move of his in WWE.
Mustafa Ali's 054 (a reverse 450 Splash) is the closest thing fans have right now to the move being taken seriously as a finisher. NXT UK's James Drake busting it out in his matches like it's nothing pretty much cements its status as a basic wrestling move.
