10 Wrestling Myths Debunked

4. DX Were WWE's NWO

If you believe WWE's version of events, D-Generation X were simply WWE's version of the nWo. Triple H and his gaggle of bastards were basically the same as Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall et al. That just isn't the case. This is the purest example of history being written by the winners of the Monday Night Wars.

Granted DX, like the nWo, were a cool, rebellious stable with epic entrance music, captivating colour schemes, and iconic catchphrases. However, that is where the comparisons end. The stable may have become a bloated mess but the New World Order featured far more world class wrestlers who won 30 world titles to DX's 22.

Furthermore, although WWE would have you believe the New Age Outlaws riding Trip's tank* to invade Nitro basically won the Monday Night War (it didn't), the nWo were the driving force behind WCW's 83 week streak whereas DX were bit-part players in WWF's revival, which was down to Stone Cold Steve Austin.

* - Whilst we're at it, it wasn't a tank, it was a jeep with a cannon on it.
