10 Wrestling Pay-Per-Views That Tried Something... Different

WCW loved to host events in weird locations. The first ever episode of Monday Nitro came live from The Mall of America; Hog Wild came from Sturgis Motorcycle Rally; and everything they did in 2000 felt like it was being broadcast from the pits of hell. Weirdly though, only one of their seven "Bash at the Beach" shows took place on an actual beach.

The 1995 edition of the PPV came live from Huntingdon Beach in California, mere feet away from the Pacific Ocean. 9,500 fans hit the sand to watch bouts between Sting and Meng, Ric Flair and Randy Savage, and Hulk Hogan and Vader. The latter four even made a special appearance on an episode of Baywatch to promote WCW and actual footage from their respective matches were featured on the show.

Whilst Bash at the Beach '95 was far from the first wrestling show to take place outside, the sand and sea against the backdrop of the bright blue California sky makes this one of the most recognisable wrestling Pay-Per-View settings ever and one many fans wish would make a comeback.
