10 Wrestling PPV Matches Allocated Far Too Little Time

3. AJ Lee Vs. Every Diva On The Roster - WWE WrestleMania XXX

Match Length: 06:47

Why it was too short: The match quite frankly had no space to breathe whatsoever.

An abhorrent way of crowbarring every Diva on the show in order to do the traditional thing and give everybody a 'Mania payday - at least, that's how it worked pre-Network - this defied belief and tainted everybody involved.

These clusterf*cks did nobody any favours. "Is there any strategy to this match whatsoever?" Cole giggled, as if he was back announcing NXT season 3. He had a point.

The stupidity was pervasive. At one point, Natalya had three Divas - there were so many in the ring that it was impossible to determine exactly which ones - in position for a logistically impossible triple sharpshooter. Shortly afterwards, another indeterminate set choreographed a quadruple suplex spot, which was even audibly called with a "3, 2, 1!" countdown.

The Money In The Bank ladder match spots, in which the remaining field assemble outside the ring to catch a dive off the ladder, stretch credibility. The variation in this match snaps back in on itself like an elastic band. There were eleven divas sat on the outside ready to catch the Bella Twins following their suicide dive. They looked like they were at a school assembly as opposed to a wrestling match.

If it had been allocated five more minutes and furnished with an elimination stipulation, the match would have had benefitted from a heightened sense of urgency and realism.
