10 Wrestling Promos That Started REAL Backstage Heat

10. John Cena And The Rock

It’s honestly impossible for me to even imagine my IRL best friend, close personal confidant, yoga instructor, emotional guardian, and racketball partner The Rock has even been rattled by anything but, apparently, Cena managed it.

Over the course of their WrestleMania build in 2012, Big Match John veered off course from their projected promo path a number of times. Call it improvisation, call it unprofessionalism, call it whatever, but The Rock can visibly be seen losing his patience with him.

Cena draws attention to the notes on Rock’s arm without clearing it first, then a week later during the infamous “tooth-fairy” chants, he refused to meet his opponent's gaze during the planned stare-down at the end go the segment.

Clearly irked by this, Rock mouths "what the f**k is wrong with you?" before leaving the ring.
