10 Wrestling Promos That Started REAL Backstage Heat

“Don't you ever, EVER, mock MY Jesus”.

Wrestling promos are the source of much scrutiny these days. Too tightly scripted and they suffocate the life out of a performer and their storyline but, too freeform, and you risk letting too much of the real world bleed into it. You might not think that second option's necessarily a terrible thing, but given how much bad blood there is in pro-wrestling, it's sometimes a recipe for disaster.

Ultimately the best talking segments should be the ones where everyone buys into a genuine tension between the opponents, but when that tension actually is genuine can make for some painful viewing. Admittedly, not as painful as the fistfights that can be sparked backstage as a result, but pretty painful nonetheless.

Thus, for so long as wrestling as put itself on live television, these accidents invariably happen. Lines are crossed, marks are overstepped, feelings are hurt and the recipients of these quasi-shoots make their feelings (and their fists) known to those who've wronged them. Here, for your salacious reading pleasure, are 10 such examples.
