10 Wrestling Promos That Were Inadvertently Infamous

3. "He's Done Everything..."

MVP Chris Benoit
WWE

For a change, John Bradshaw Layfield being a blow-hard isn't something he deserves the type of grief he'd normally dish out. Quite the opposite in fact - JBL was in actuality doing a phenomenal job as Michael Cole's co-anchor on SmackDown at the time, and masterfully put over both 'The Crippler' and WrestleMania 23 opponent MVP at the climax of their 'Show Of Shows' US Title war.

It was the manner in which he celebrated the life of Benoit with such certainty that made difficult listening just three months later.

Bradshaw's fawning was brilliantly by design. In putting over the Champion, he was tacitly praising the challenger's losing effort to bolster another future shot down the line. He was doing his job to help service a feud, but was unaware he was servicing the final feud of Chris Benoit's life.

"Michael, there’s not enough superlatives to describe Chris Benoit, he’s done everything in this business. He’s going in the Hall Of Fame. He's one of the greatest of all time...congratulations Chris, another WrestleMania moment, and you deserve every damn bit of it!" was the verbal ticker-tape parade any babyface would be grateful for. It's now just another unfortunate moment that remains quietly included in the vast WWE Network vault.
