What are your thoughts on the progress being made in women’s wrestling both in and outside of WWE?

"I think the Evolution pay-per-view is good. Ultimately it needed to happen, and it was forced through because of pressure from the independent wrestling community. Not just the internet one, but also other promotions, and I think it’s changing and it’s better. I hope that having quality - in Natalya and Asuka - and also people they’re bringing in for the Mae Young Classic as well [will help]. Toni Storm’s coming through and she’s wicked, and they’re using Jinny on the NXT UK stuff… I think it’s good. There is that need for wrestling to get with the times a little bit.

What’s good about it is that it’s the first, and I think that means there’ll be a second, third and fourth. It doesn’t feel like it’s a one-off, it feels like this is just part of how it is now. The women’s Royal Rumble is important - I think that’s the moment isn’t it? - I think it’s my favourite! Hopefully, although they screwed up Asuka coming in [to the main roster] I think having somebody of that quality and that talent in the mix, and some of the ones coming through... Bianca Bel Air is gonna come through from NXT and she’s going to be an absolute superstar."
